Merck Research Laboratories is a true scientific research facilityof tomorrow and will take Merck's leading discovery capabilities andworld-class small molecule and biologics R&D expertise to createbreakthrough science that radically changes the way we approach seriousdiseases.    Merck is currently seeking anexceptional chemist for a position within the Labeled Compound Synthesis groupin Process Chemistry located at our Rahway, NJ site.   The successfulcandidate is required to design and execute syntheses and purify and characterizecompounds labelled with stable and radioactive isotopes. These isotopicallylabelled compounds are essential in the discovery and development of innovativenew medicines.  This role also involves the development of innovative methods forisotopic labelling.   The successful candidate should be completingtheir PhD or post-doc in 2019 and have expert knowledge in synthetic organic chemistry,modern separation technologies and spectroscopic methods of analysis, coupledwith the ability to apply this expertise to the synthesis of compounds labelledwith stable and radioactive isotopes. Experience working with stable andradioactive isotopes is desirable but not required.   Strong interpersonal skills andthe ability to contribute specialist knowledge within a multi-disciplinaryenvironment are essential for this Senior Scientist position. The successfulcandidate must be able to work closely with other departments within andoutside Merck Research Laboratories, including Medicinal Chemistry, ProcessChemistry and external Contract Research Organizations (CROs)when designing and putting into practice labelled compound syntheses. Closecollaboration with the Drug Metabolism and Bioanalytical groups, who are majorend users of labelled compounds, is also a key part of the position. Qualifications Education Minimum Requirement:          PhD in chemistrywith 0-3 years of substantialexperience or graduating with a PhD in2019, OR        Master's in chemistry or related field, with 10 years ofsubstantial experience.   Required Experience and Skills :         PhD in chemistry with 0-3 years of substantial experience orgraduating with a PhD in 2019, OR Master's in chemistry or related field, with10 years of substantial experience.         Must have conducted outstanding research in his/her field ofexpertise that may be shared during the interview process.        Function well within multidisciplinary teams and possessoutstanding communication skills.        Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills        Strong leadership and interpersonal skills  Preferred Experience and Skills:        Experience working with stable and radioactive isotopes isdesirable but not required.        A strong track record of peer-reviewed publications and researchpresentations is a plus. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
