MerckResearch Labs Pharmaceutical Sciences & Clinical Supply team is currentlyrecruiting a device development engineering intern. This role will beresponsible for assisting with activities required for the development,manufacturing, release and launch of products, including:

  • Assist/participate in the design and development of medical devices from concept to finished product following all design control procedures.

  • Participate in the design, validation, and implementation of the tooling and fixtures needed for the inspection and assembly of the product.

  • Collect, record, trend track data and report as necessary in written or graph type presentation.

  • Participate in corrective actions and root cause investigations.

  • Assist in implementing process designs, create prototypes, testing and making necessary modifications where required.

  • Be responsible for the development of the manufacturing documentation such as, Bill of Materials (BOM), SUPs, SOPs, WSs and routers for the product lines.

  • Assistwith and participate in the validation and qualification of equipment/machinesas required.

Thisis a full- time internship position. Housing subsidy is not available aspart of this program and must be funded 100% by the student.





Required: Candidates must be pursuing a bachelor'sdegree in engineering (such as mechanical, chemical, biomedical, industrial,electrical,‚€ etc).


Required Experience and Skills:

  • Candidates must have knowledge of Computer Aided Design (CAD) software.

  • Candidates must have knowledge of mechanical testing and protocol development.

  • Candidates must have knowledge of rapid prototyping techniques like 3D printing.

  • Candidates must have excellent communication skills.

  • Candidates must have completed at least (2) years toward degree program by June of 2019.

  • Candidates must beavailable to work full-time for up to (12) weeks beginning in May or June of2019.

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Candidates should have effective oral and written communication skills.

  • Candidates should have strong analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Candidates should have basic knowledge in engineering design, statistics and material science.

  • Candidates should work independently.

  • Candidates should have prior knowledge of the medical device industry.

  • Candidates should have knowledge of CAD and/or SolidWorks.

  • Candidates should have MS Office Applications, Power Point, SharePoint, PowerLink, MAPICS, MS Project.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
