MerckResearch Labs' Medical Writing team is seeking highly motivated summer internswith interests in medicine, pharmacology/pharmacy, or biological sciences, aswell as interests in writing and communicating medicine and science.¬  The goal of these positions is for thestudents to gain broad insight into the drug development process, knowledge ofclinical regulatory documents, and hands on experience in regulatory medicalwriting.¬  The Medical Writing departmentis responsible for creating documents that report the results of clinicaltrials in subjects receiving investigational Merck products to regulatoryagencies in the U.S. and worldwide.¬ These documents include clinical study protocols, clinical studyreports, Investigator Brochures, and overall summaries of clinicalprograms.¬  The Medical Writing departmentworks in all of Merck's therapeutic areas, including oncology, infectiousdisease, cardiology, diabetes, and neurology.¬ The summer intern will work on a project that will give them individualand team experience with how clinical trials are designed, analyzed, andreported.¬  They will work under theguidance of a mentor and have observational as well as hands-onresponsibilities.




Thisis a full- time internship position. Housing subsidy is not available aspart of this program and must be funded 100% by the student.

Qualifications

Education:

Required: Candidates must be currently enrolled in a bachelor of science degree or equivalent program in the life sciences OR in afield related to medicine.



¬ 


Required Experience and Skills:




  • Candidates must be available to work full-time for up to (12) weeks beginning in May or June of 2019.

  • Candidates must have completed at least (3) years of study toward bachelor's degree or (2) years in a field related to medicine by June of 2019.

  • Candidates must have experience with Microsoft Office (specifically Word and utilizing Word templates).

  • Candidates must have theability to work well in a team environment.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
