Product Safety and Compliance Manager

SDI Technologies, Inc. and KIDdesigns, Inc. are leading manufacturers of consumer electronics and interactive electronic toys. We are seeking for a Product Safety and Compliance Manager.
Essential Job Functions
Act as the primary contact for all product-related safety, compliance, and regulatory issues.
Liaise between U.S. Sales, Logistics, Quality, Development, other local groups and customers and our off-shore product compliance team.
Develop, manage and document compliance and testing policies. Compile and maintain product quality and compliance manuals.
Submit and process regulatory and compliance applications, and coordinate materials and product sample testing, as required.
Monitor industry and regulatory updates and take appropriate actions.
Communicate compliance requirements internally and externally.
Highlight quality and compliance requirements and risks, and provide safety & performance recommendations during new product development.
Perform data mining and analytics to drive product quality and process improvement.
Maintenance of safety, compliance, and regulatory records.
Research global regulations and standards as needed.
Review quality inspection reports with focus on safety hazards and compliance & product performance.
Evaluate product warranty claims, customer complaints, and defect reporting for trends and issue escalation.
Customer compliance management; develop and manage auditing program and supplier compliance agreements.
Other related tasks as defined.

QUALIFICATIONS
BS degree in Engineering or other equivalent in a science or technical field.
3-5 years of experience in product compliance law in North America (additional countries a plus).
2
years of experience with laboratory and in-house testing of consumer & electronic goods, and children's products/toys).
Experience coordinating and communicating with associates from 2-3 countries to ensure compliance processes are followed and documented.
Knowledge of materials, product regulations and testing standards.
Specific knowledge of Prop 65, REACH, conflict minerals regulations, WERCS, CPSC/CPSIA, CARB, CA-117, ASTM Toy Safety, RoHS, BIFMA, AATCC, ANSI, ISTA, FCC, IC, NOM, CAA, UL/ETL, Bluetooth SIG, Wi-Fi Alliance, EMC, and DOT other electronic product related shipping requirements.
Understanding of quality control standards, inspection practices (ANSI/AQL), root cause analysis, FMEA concepts, and other quality management tools.
Familiarity with facility, social compliance and safety auditing.
Excellent writing and communications skills.
Competent use of MS Office is required, including a proficiency with Excel.

Travel
Occasional travel is anticipated for this position.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
