Maintains excellent Customer Service.
Keeps alert and responsive to situations requiring immediate and courteous assistance to patients, visitors and employees.
Recognizes the difference in normal and unusual behavior and responds accordingly.
Responds to calls or alarms for assistance from hospital personnel and visitors.
Investigates incidents including questioning witnesses and evaluating the scene to determine the reasons for a call for assistance and writes Security reports.
Assists victims of accidents or assaults by calling for medical assistance, or assists in transporting to a specific location for medical treatment.
Completes timely Incident Reports when incident of accident or injury occurs.
Utilizes appropriate techniques, as needed, to deescalate or assists with restraining individuals causing disturbances that disrupt normal working operations, etc.
Investigates and drafts reports on breaches of Security, Fire/Safety Violations, complaints and other assignments affecting the staff, patients, visitors and others while on hospital premises.
Patrols assigned areas over the course of a regular shift performing various Security checks.
Directs traffic, ensuring normal traffic flow, especially during congested times such as shift change and when an accident has occurred.
Oversees a crime scene or accident scene, restricting access to those persons required on the scene until local law enforcement arrives.
Responds to all alert calls to maintain area control; Responds to Fire and Panic/Duress Alarms and takes proper action as per established policies and procedures.
Reports fire and safety hazards detected and take immediate action to extinguish or control fires discovered and to temporarily correct unsafe conditions.
Provides security escort for employees when requested.
Completes and maintains appropriate records/documents pertaining to Security activities.
Admitting and releasing expired patient to and from morgue / refrigerated trailer.

Job Qualifications Education/Training/Certification/Licensure:
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Current NJ Driver s license required.
CPR certification required.
Familiarity with Joint Commission Environment of Care, Life Safety, Fire Risk and Security standards preferred.
Prior experience in a security role preferred.
